ROUNAGLE
The ridge path
Rounagle is an estate in the Armagnac appellation, located in Ténarèze, in the North East of Gers, in the South West of France.
At Rounagle, the vines have been cultivated for centuries but the Domaine was born at the end of 2015 with the ambition of producing beautiful and good products in organic farming.
Day after day, in rhythm with the seasons, the work in the vineyards and fields takes place in a search for harmony with nature.
This quest requires patience and perseverance.
That is Rounagle's ambition.

ARMAGNAC
Blends
45 hectares of Colombard, Folle Blanche, Mauzac Blanc, Meslier-Saint François, Plant de Graisse, and Ugni Blanc grape varieties are registered with the INAO (National Institute of Origin and Quality) as an AOC (Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée) for Armagnac production.
The clay-limestone terroir of Rounagle produces fruity Ténarèze Armagnacs. Only water is used to reduce the alcohol content; no additives are used.
The Folle Blanche, Plant de Graisse, Meslier-Saint-François, and Mauzac grape varieties have been planted and will produce single-varietal Armagnacs. Others will follow…
Vintages
The vintages are offered at their natural cask strength, unfiltered, allowing you to experience the true taste of Rounagle Armagnacs. Most vintages, dating back to 1962, are still available depending on stock levels; some older vintages are also available, but in very limited quantities.
Don't hesitate to taste the young eaux-de-vie whose fruity and slightly woody notes, combined with a higher proof, will warm your taste buds!
Rounagle vintage armagnacs differ from one another and offer you the opportunity to explore the mysteries of aging armagnacs in oak barrels.
The vintages are bottled to order, allowing enthusiasts to follow the evolution of their favorite eaux-de-vie over time.
The wooden cases offered are made by a local higher education institution providing work assistance and are made from Landes pine.

SAUVIGNON

A unique local product!
SINGLE MALT
WHISKEY
At the end of 2015, just after buying the Rounagle land, I decided to sow barley. The first harvest took place in July 2016, malting at the end of November, and the first distillation in 2017.
Since then, every year if weather conditions permit, barley is sown to produce a new whisky.
The casks are 400 litres made of Gascon oak to maintain a connection with the Armagnac tradition. They are filled to 250 litres to increase oxygen exchange and develop the aromas.
Rounagle's single malt was the first farmhouse whisky in the southwest.
